Frequently Asked Questions
What are your office hours?
Monday - Thursday 9:00am - 8:00pm, Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm.
Therapy sessions are by appointment. Saturday appointments may be requested. Branch office sessions are by appointment only.

How long is each session?
Individual and family sessions are typically 45 minutes, although 30 and 60 minutes appointments are available as medically necessary. Group therapy sessions are 60-90 minutes.

What will my first appointment be like?
Your first appointment can take up to 1.5 hours. We will start by explaining the various intake forms which you will review thoroughly before signing. Please bring your insurance card and picture ID so we can make a copy for our records. Once the intake process is complete, you will meet with your therapist for your first session.

How long will I be involved in therapy?
The length of therapy differs for each person and depends on factors such as the type and severity of the problem, interest and motivation, and the commitment towards problem resolution. Short term treatment (the number varies but is somewhere in the area of 6 to 20 sessions) is often sought by people who want to address a specific problem or clarify an issue they thought they had already resolved. Many people are able to accomplish what they want in a few sessions but they decide to spend additional time to resolve other issues that emerged in the course of hte short term treatment.

How do I know I'm making progress in my therapy?
You and your therapist will formally review your progress at least every three months. You should begin to notice a decrease in the symptoms or concerns that prompted counseling. It's essential to keep your therapist informed of any successes, new concerns or lack of progress.

Is my treatment confidential?
We keep all your information private and only release or disclose information as you authorize us to. Forms can be signed if you would like us to disclose information to insurance companies, managed care companies, physicians, other healthcare providers, attorney, etc.
